| The Quinte Collaborative Law Association was founded
in late 2002. Its purpose is to promote the use of collaborative family law techniques in the Quinte area. It also organizes training sessions in collaborative law, and sets standards for local lawyers who wish to be listed as collaborative practitioners. The Association is funded entirely by membership fees and the proceeds of conferences and training courses. It receives no government funding. Lawyers wishing to belong to the Association must meet the training requirements approved by the Association's board of directors. As well, members must sign a written declaration indicating that they support the principles of collaborative family law and will conduct themselves in accordance with those principles. The President pro tem of the Association is Belleville lawyer Karen Selick. She can be reached at her law firm, Reynolds O'Brien LLP, at (613) 966-3031 or by e-mail. The association has further reading material available for clients who think they might be interested in collaborative family law services. |
